ABOUT DATIS

The Drug and Alcohol Treatment Information System (DATIS) has been supporting clinical services in the community addiction sector since 1994.

DATIS now serve approximately 200 community-based publicly-funded addiction and problem gambling treatment agencies mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) to submit a minimum dataset to DATIS. Using our web-based client management system, Catalyst, DATIS helps Health Service Providers manage their clinical services and report data for use in health system planning.

DATIS also supports Ontario’s health policy and decision makers with a wide variety reports.

DATIS provides business and technical support services for community mental health and addictions agencies across Ontario.  Services include development of online or web-based systems such as clinical tools, surveys and reports.

DATIS is operated by the Provincial System Support Program (PSSP) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. PSSP works together with partners across the province to improve the way those who experience mental illnesses and addictions access services. In support of Ontario’s Comprehensive Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, we move evidence to action, and have expertise in areas such as:

  • Knowledge exchange
  • Implementation models and techniques
  • Training and skill development
  • Information management
  • Health equity and engagement
  • Evaluation

Patients First Digital
